Stephen is Organizational Development, Strategy and Human Resources specialist with over 20 years of progressive experience at regional and international levels spanning the development, public, and corporate , and finance sectors. He has extensive international and regional experience across Africa having worked as Interim Regional Human Resources Business Partner for Oxfam International, Horn East and Central Africa (HECA), Change Manager Oxfam Bangladesh, Global Humanitarian Human Resources Manager, Oxfam International, Head of Human Resources and Corporate Services, Shelter Afrique, International Organizational Development Manager for WWF International , Regional HR Manager for Aga Khan Foundation East Africa, Regional Human Resources and Organizational Development Manager for ActionAid West and Central Africa, and Regional Learning and Talent Development Manager for Unilever East and Southern Africa.
Stephen’s consultancy specialities include strategic human resources management and development, compensation and benefits, organisational development, governance, change management, strategic planning and strategy reviews, research and evaluations, organisational performance management using the balanced scorecard methodology, executive coaching and turnaround strategies. He has led large scale organisational consultancies involving reviews of strategies, operating models, turnaround, and organizational redesign for financial institutions and development aid agencies.
Stephen is an SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP instructor and leads delivery of instruction to students in East Africa. Stephen holds an MBA degree from the University of Free State, South Africa, a B.A (Hons) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from Makerere University. Stephen has completed PhD student -Organisation Learning, Dissertation submitted to the Open University, Malaysia for award of a PhD in Business Administration.
He is a Senior Certified Human Resources Professional (SHRM-SCP) USA with Society of Human Resources Management – USA, a Certified Executive Coach with Academy of Executive Coaches, UK, an Associate in Corporate Governance (ACG/ACIS), Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, United Kingdom, a Certified Balanced Scorecard Practitioner, Balanced Scorecard Institute and University of Washington, USA.
